  1. Whatever beef cut you choose, cut it across grains. Wipe off any water with a kitchen towel.
  2. Add cornflour, salt and pepper to the beef strip and mix well. Dust off the excess flour as you just need a thin layer.
  3. Fry the halal meat in a non-stick pan with one tablespoon oil on medium flame. Fry in batches until they turn into bright golden colour. 
  4. Spread fried meat strip on a kitchen towel to absorb the excess oil and gather all the strips on a plate.
  5. For the sauce, fry ginger, garlic, pepper, chilli flakes and chilli slices in little oil for at least 1 minute.
  6. Now, add soy sauce, hoisin sauce, and brown sugar to it and mix well.
  7. Mix cornflour and water and add it to the sauce. Cook until the sauce turns translucent and shiny.
  8. Add fried beef to it and cook for some time.
  9. Now, add sliced onions (green parts only) and serve. You can even use toasted sesame seeds for garnishing the Spicy Mongolian Beef.
